Here's my nominees:

Questions from Paved by Books:

       1. What 3 books are on your must-read list for 2016?

The new Mediator book, Remembrance by Meg Cabot. I loved the Mediator series, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Jesse’s getting on out in the modern world. I also want to attempt (attempt being the operative word) War and Peace, since I’m loving the BBC series. Other than that, I want to finish A Song of Ice and Fire – I stopped at book three a while ago, since I didn’t want to get ahead of the TV series (backwards I know) but now it’s caught up I should probably get back to it.

2. If you had to eat the same food every day, what would you choose?

Probably noodles and stir-fry. I know it’s possible too, as I basically lived on it my second year of university. I just changed up the sauces and sometimes put bacon in instead of chicken.

3. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love to write, and writing posts gets it out of my system. The worst part though, is I use it as procrastination. You can tell I’ve got a deadline coming up if I’m suddenly posting all the time.

4. Which do you prefer: tablet or laptop?

Laptop! You can’t type on a tablet. Or play dvds.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you go?

By the sea. I live on a peninsula (the Wirral) so technically we should have loads of beaches, but they’re not really the kind you can swim off. I’d say somewhere hot, but I don't think I could cope for too long. Maybe I'd bounce between Cornwall and the Caribbean?

5. Noodles or rice?

Noodles.

6. What book do you always recommend to everyone?

My Lady of Cleeves by Margaret Campbell Barnes. It’s an historical novel about Anne of Cleeves (the wife Henry VIII divorced because her looks didn’t measure up to her picture) and there’s a bit of a romance with Hans Holbein, who painted the infamous portrait. Also Gone with the Wind.

7. Do you have a favourite Disney movie?

Mulan. It’s the funniest, and she’s such a great character. I love Pocahontas too.

8. What is your comfort food?

Hot buttered toast with Marmite and a cup of tea. Ben & Jerry’s in very desperate situations.

9. What is your favourite quote?

"A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything."  - Irish Proverb

10. What's the one book you would never, ever, read?
For fun? Maybe a maths textbook.
11. What's the most important thing you've learned about blogging so far?
To participate in stuff. Comment, do tags and memes and things. To put myself out there a bit.

Facts about Me:
1. My favourite TV series is Nashville.
2. I’ve got tickets for ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ in November with my sister. £15, restricted view. I probably won’t be able to see a thing, but I’m so excited.
3. I’m studying screen-writing part-time.
4. My family has two kittens (cats now, just) called Sansa and Arya. Both tabbies, but Sansa’s got an orange blaze on her face. Both are adorable, but Arya’s a bit more reckless and always getting stuck on the top of doors and down the back of wardrobes.

5. I can play the piano – a bit. I don’t practice enough to be any good.
6. I did my BA at Bangor University – which was a lovely place to study, although there wasn’t much there. Since it’s a Welsh speaking area, we had to have our whole graduation ceremony in both Welsh and English. It was long.

7. Last year, I went to Ibiza on holiday. Everyone said ‘but you’re not a clubby person.’ I’m not, really, but it was still fun.
8. In year two, I was a ‘child on the magic carpet’ in the nativity play. My best friend played the genie, who granted my wish to go to Bethlehem. Sometimes I wonder if this was all a dream.
9. My first TV crush was King Bob, from Recess.
10. Once, I sat next to Alfred from Downton Abbey (the tall, ginger footman) on the train. It wasn’t very comfortable (since his legs took up a lot of space) and I was too shy to talk to him. But he did smile at me when he got off at his stop.
11. When I was little, my life plan was to be a writer, but run a cattery as my ‘real job’ until I started making money. I’m obviously more practical than I give myself credit for.

NOWAY! That's amazing about Alfred :-) My closest spring to having met someone famous is the actor that played Macbeth in a local production I saw followed me on twitter.. oh I wish I lived in England!

    Yes to Pochaontas!

  3. Thank you for the nomination, Catherine! ^_^ I think I may have to check out My Lady of Cleeves - I've always been quite fond of Anne of Cleeves. Mulan is one of the greats, though considering I was a '90s kid I guess I'm always going to see '90s Disney as 'the greats'. I'm looking forward to answering your questions!

    1. 90's Disney films are definitely the best! (although I do have a soft spot for Tangled.) And Anne of Cleeves has been my favourite since I read that book, I get angry now every time she's dismissed as 'the ugly one' - I'm much too invested :) Look forward to seeing your answers :D

  4. Mulan is brilliant. I'd never not crack up at Mushu's 'dishonour on your cow' scene haha. I love Nashville too! I haven't seen any of Season 4 unfortunately but I'm hoping to fix that really soon. And omg, I'm so jealous that you get to see Cursed Child! I hope you'll enjoy it! :)

    1. I love that scene! I haven't seen Nashville season 4 either, I think we get it here in spring sometime - I'm still resisting the temptation to download illegally. And thanks, really excited for Cursed child :D

  7. Loved your reading your answers, Catherine! I must admit - I'm impressed with anyone who attempts to read War and Peace. That's definitely not a book I'd even consider just because of its length, lol. Oh man, stir-fry is so good! I can eat it all the time. Also, so cool that you're studying screen-writing!

Thank you so much for nominating me!! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get this done, though work/life has been a bit hectic and I finally feel like I'm catching up on stuff; hopefully :)

  11. YOU RECOMMEND GONE WITH THE WIND! We just became kindred spirits. Also, I also use writing to procrastinate...

Do you have a favourite song? - Smile by Charlie Chaplin.

2 - What literary character do you think you’re the most like? Anne Shirley.

3 -Cats or Dogs? Kitties <3

4 -What film always cheers you up? 1994 Little Women.

5 -Frodo, Sam, Merry or Pippin? Sorry, I don't know who these people are. Cracks in the kindred thing!

6 -What would be your specialist subject on a quiz show? Ah, good question! Well, I always do well in the literature category on Jeopardy. PROBABLY, I shall say Margaret Mitchell, would be my specialty category.

7 -Who’s your favourite Disney Prince/hero? Uh, Kindred cracking. I don't have a favorite. I guess the guy in Cinderella?

8 -If you could bring back one fashion from the past (e.g poodle-skirts, togas, scrunchies) what would it be? HOOP SKIRTS THEY ARE SO IMPRACTICAL BUT ALSO SWIRLY.

9 -What’s your favourite gemstone? Amethyst.

10 -What are your current favourite baby names (boy and girl)? Not kindred. Sorry, I have no answer for this. This is something I'd think about if I had a baby to name.

11 -Can you tell us a piece of random trivia? YES! So, Vivien Leigh asked Margaret Mitchell for an autographed copy of GWTW. Mitchell wasn't autographing any books for anyone (it was ridiculously exhausting & she felt that being expected to sign until her hand fell off was asking too much.) So she wrote Leigh a long letter explaining why she wouldn't be signing her book. She then signed that letter and tucked it into the book. Ha ha!

    1. Aw, that letter would definitely have made up for the un-signed book! I love the 1994 Little Women too, but I don't know how happy it makes me - I always cry my eyes out, haha. And nothing beats Gone with the Wind :D Thanks for sharing your answers!
